WhO :: What :: Why

WHO: Hi, I’m Gracie Cole, née Sorbello, AKA the Bag Lady. I have the incredible honor of representing the USA in the Netherlands this summer, competing in the masters World Cup on the over-40 field hockey national team.

WHAT: I love to sew almost as much as I love playing field hockey. I specialize in highly functional items, with a propensity toward bags, often using repurposed materials. All Narvalo bags are handmade with love by yours truly in Nathrop, Colorado, which is a rural, unincorporated area in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. The few, the proud Nathropians fondly call ourselves the “Nathrop Narwhals,” as the elusive creatures narwhals are known to be. In a nod to my Italian family heritage, I call this venture NARVALO, which is Italian for narwhal.

WHY: Masters field hockey is self-funded; we pay to play in the World Cup, including travel, lodging, food, uniforms, equipment, and medical staff, which amasses to nearly $6,000 per player. Not to mention my “good” stick is 18 years old and ready for an upgrade! I am making & selling Narvalo bags as a way to raise money for my World Cup training and tournament expenses.

If you would like to donate directly instead of purchase bags, my Venmo is: @Gracie-Cole-2
Thank you so much for joining me in the World Cup journey by supporting Narvalo!
